Breast cancer AI company iCAD today named new executives to three key positions, a month after disclosing a restructuring that included layoffs of 23 employees. The new appointments are effective May 1.
Eric Lonnqvist was promoted to CFO, after serving as vice president of financial planning and analysis at iCAD since 2021. He replaces Daniel Shea, who was interim CFO. Lonnqvist brings more than 15 years of finance and accounting experience in the medical device and technology industries, including at NetBrain Technologies.
Vasu Avadhanula joined iCAD as chief product officer from Susan G. Komen, where he was vice president for health technology and digital transformation.
Michelle Strong, iCAD’s new chief operations officer, most recently was vice president of marketing strategy at Susan G. Komen.
CEO Dana Brown, who was named last month to succeed Stacey Stevens at the helm of the Nashua, N.H.-based company, said the new executives bring experience that will accelerate key initiatives in the company’s expansion plan, such as partnerships with patient advocacy groups, pharmaceutical companies and payer organizations.
“While we have recently implemented measures to reduce expenses, we remain focused on strategically investing in our Detection business and addressing some of the top issues threatening women’s health today, such as breast cancer and cardiovascular disease,” Brown said in a statement.
