New title: President of patient support systems, global surgical solutions and care communications, Baxter International
Previous title: President of cardiovascular diagnostics and services, Medtronic
Julie Brewer has been named president of patient support systems, global surgical solutions and care communications at Baxter International, the executive announced on LinkedIn.
She takes up the new position following almost 17 years at Medtronic, most recently as president of cardiovascular diagnostics and services, according to the LinkedIn post.
“I spent the last couple of days meeting many on the team and came away energized and excited about the road ahead,” Brewer said.
“We are grateful for Julie’s many contributions over her 17 years at Medtronic and we wish her continued success in her new role,” Medtronic said in an emailed statement. MassDevice first reported on Brewer’s move to Baxter.
At Medtronic, Stacey Churchwell has moved into the role of vice president and general manager of the cardiovascular diagnostics and services business, which is part of the company’s cardiac rhythm management operating unit, according to Medtronic’s statement.
Churchwell joined Medtronic in 2011 and most recently was vice president and general manager of the company’s procedure innovations business. Before joining Medtronic, Churchwell was a consultant with Accenture and a sales representative at Guidant/Boston Scientific.
Baxter, which recently announced the departure of CFO Jay Saccaro, is in the midst of a restructuring, with plans to spin off its kidney care business. Saccaro moved to GE HealthCare to become chief financial officer. Baxter’s chief accounting officer and controller, Brian Stevens, assumed the CFO role at Baxter on an acting basis.
Medtronic, too, is restructuring, confirming in April plans to reduce its global workforce as it focuses on cost reductions.
